I was stripping down my other fixie for maintenance when I decided to ride a smaller frame this spring. After a long struggle to remove all the paint manually, I gave it a coat of metallic blue and some clear laquer. On with a Tange headset, Nitto stem, one-finger brake lever, Campagnolo Veloce brake, Campy Pista cranks with vintage Record road pedals – and to top it off – my blue anodized Mavic Open Pro rims with Campy Record road hubs. That's right... Refurbs is riding a suicide hub now. This also gave me a chance to learn how to dish a wheel and understand spokes better. Using my new favourite – the rotafix method – the cog is safe and securely fastened. The stem and saddle have been changed since these images were taken. Gearing is 53x20.
