A SLOW GIRO

In protest of the unsafe conditions that some riders feel led to the tragic crash of Pedro Horillo the day before, they conducted the 9th round of this year's Giro d'Italia in slow motion through the streets of Milan. Later, Lance Armstrong defended the unpopular and unannounced action by arguing that the tram tracks and many parked cars are a hazard to the riders. The Giro will continue as scheduled and at normal speed tomorrow.
