When my friend wanted a basic fixie, I built this up for him with a white Formula wheelset, a BMX bar and an old Motobecane brake. In the process I learned through painful experience that the old French tube and bottom bracket thread sizes are a bit off-standard, so don't forget to keep all the spares in case you decide to strip down one of these one day.

I had this old Peugeot frame hanging on the wall in my workshop. It must have an interesting history, because when I found it discarded in a trash yard some years ago, it had California bicycle license stickers that expired in 1981. I rode it as a single speed for a while and liked it a lot.
